The AEM Short Ram Air Intake is an economical value to its higher-priced AEM Cold Air Intake. That does not necessarily mean worse performance. For certain car applications, the AEM Short Ram Air Intake system responds more favorably due to its shorter inlet lengths over the longer AEM Cold Air Intake design. For these applications, AEM offers a Short Ram system only, since these are the best performing air intakes for some vehicles. If you do not see an AEM Cold Air Intake system for your car application, typically your car will perform better with the Short Ram air intake.

The AEM Short Ram Air Intake features a mandrel-bent 6061 aluminum inlet pipe for durability and light weight. Each AEM Short Ram Air Intake system's length and diameter has been tuned and tested to work with an engine's harmonics (resonance frequencies) to help carry more air to the inlet valves across the RPM range.

Each AEM Short Ram Air Intake features a one-piece, four-layer, cotton-gauze AEM air filter that provides superior filtration and meets or exceeds SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) filtration standards for automobiles. Each AEM Short Ram Air Intake filter body is made from urethane so that it won't shrink or crack like plastisol, the common material that other air intake filters are made of.

The AEM Short Ram Air Intake uses soft mounts for a guaranteed fit.
